Maintaining the cooling system is crucial for the daily operation of a CO2 laser engraving machine. The laser tube generates a significant amount of heat during operation; insufficient cooling will not only affect the stability of laser output but may also drastically shorten the lifespan of the laser tube.
First, the cooling water should be changed regularly, and purified or distilled water should be used to avoid the accumulation of scale and impurities, which can affect heat dissipation. It is recommended to change the cooling water every two weeks or depending on the frequency of use to keep the water clean and clear.
Second, temperature control is key to maintaining system stability. The cooling water temperature should be maintained between 15°C and 20°C. Excessive temperature will reduce laser efficiency, while insufficient temperature may cause condensation inside the tubes. Using a chiller with temperature control is ideal for ensuring a constant temperature.
Furthermore, the water pump, pipes, and joints should be checked regularly to ensure smooth water flow and no leaks. If insufficient or abnormal cooling water flow is detected, the machine should be stopped immediately for inspection to prevent the laser tube from overheating and burning out.
Proper cooling system maintenance can significantly extend the lifespan of the laser tube, improve the overall stability and processing quality of the CO2 laser engraving machine, and bring higher production efficiency and equipment returns to enterprises.
