In the daily use of fiber laser welding machines, the welding head is a critical component for ensuring welding quality and production efficiency. The lens inside the welding head is the core link that affects laser transmission and focusing. Contamination, scratches, or damage to the lens will directly lead to reduced laser output power, unstable welding, and even equipment failure. Therefore, regular inspection and proper replacement of the lens are essential for fiber laser welding machine maintenance.

1. First, daily inspection is essential.

Before each start-up, the operator should inspect the welding head protective lens through the lens, or disassemble it for inspection if necessary. Check the welding head lens surface for dust, metal soot, or oil. If even slight contamination is found, gently wipe it with a dedicated dust-free cotton swab or lens cleaning paper using anhydrous alcohol. Avoid using rough cloths or corrosive chemical liquids to prevent secondary damage.

2. Secondly, timely lens replacement is essential.

If scratches or cracks appear on the lens surface, or if light transmittance cannot be restored after cleaning, it should be replaced immediately. When replacing the lens, operators must wear dust-free gloves to prevent fingerprints and oil from contaminating the new lens. During installation, pay attention to the lens’s orientation and mounting position to ensure precise alignment with the laser beam path.

3. Finally, establish maintenance records.

It is recommended that companies maintain a welding head maintenance file, detailing the time and status of each lens inspection and replacement. This not only helps extend the life of the equipment but also helps identify potential process issues during operation.
