During the entire operation of the fiber laser cutting machine, the laser is the core component, and the stability of its output power directly affects the cutting quality, efficiency and equipment life. Regular performance inspection of the laser is an important step to ensure smooth production.
Ⅰ. Why should the laser output power be detected?
Once the laser output power fluctuates or decreases, it is easy to cause problems such as rough cutting section, inability to cut through, slow processing speed, and even damage the optical path system. Therefore, regular inspections can detect potential faults in time and avoid downtime losses.
Ⅱ. Methods for determining whether the output power is stable:
1. Use a power meter to measure laser output
Use a laser power meter to measure the actual output value to see if it is consistent with the laser set power. It is recommended to detect once a month and keep records for comparative analysis of trends.
2. Observe whether the cutting effect is consistent
If it is found that the cutting is not as smooth as before under the same parameters, or the slit becomes wider, the edge is severely burned, etc., it may be related to unstable power.
3. Check the power feedback in the operating software
Some laser systems have real-time power feedback function, and the output status can be checked through the system interface. If abnormal power fluctuations are found, it can be preliminarily determined whether there are problems with power supply, cooling, water circuit or fiber connection.
4. Check whether the fiber connection is clean and firm
Contamination of the fiber end face or loose interface will also cause power output attenuation, and the interface needs to be checked and cleaned regularly.
5. Monitor the performance of the cooling system
Long-term high temperature of the laser will affect the output stability. Keeping the cooling water flow and water temperature within the recommended range will help maintain the performance of the laser.
III. Recommended maintenance frequency
Visually check the laser status every week
Check the actual output power once a month
Contact the manufacturer for in-depth maintenance every 3~6 months
The above methods can effectively determine whether the output power of the fiber laser is stable and ensure the long-term and efficient operation of the cutting equipment.
